Clarke Strings & Sound is the result of nearly fifteen years of hands-on experience in the D.C. music industry, combining deep technical skill with a love for storytelling and sound. While studying English Literature at the University of Maryland, I began restoring Fender Rhodes electric pianos and quickly developed a passion for electro-mechanical instruments. What started with a custom-built Rhodes Piano Bass for a pianist in Germany soon expanded into guitar repair, restoration, and ultimately a full-fledged boutique business.

I sharpened my skills at Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center, where I apprenticed under master luthiers, earned certifications from Fender and Taylor Guitars, and even collaborated on a custom line of PRS guitars at their Maryland factory. Today, I bring that same precision and care to every project at Clarke Strings & Sound — blending deep gear knowledge with thoughtful communication and a commitment to helping musicians sound their best.
